Unforgettable adventure awaits at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks! You'll reach these popular destinations in 2 hours or less:

Garfield Grove Trail — 30 minutes

Lodgepole Campground — 1 hour

Case Mountain — 1 hour

Wolverton Picnic Area — 1 hour

Mineral King Valley — 1.5 hours

Garfield Grove Trail is a challenging hike, but worth the payoff of towering Sequoia groves.

Meet the park’s giant sequoias, General Sherman and the Four Guardsmen, at Lodgepole Campground where you can spend the day on leisurely trails with breathtaking views. It also reigns as the most popular stargazing spot thanks to dark inky skies.

Case Mountain is popular with mountain bikers and trail runners, with over 45 biking trails and 100 hiking trails.

Locals love the Wolverton Picnic Area in the winter for sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Mineral King Valley is famous for its scenic trails through pine, sequoia, and fir forests dotted with colorful, granite landscapes. Hiking at this altitude is strenuous at 7,500’, but you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of this glacial-formed valley.

Kings Canyon offers climbing and whitewater rafting deeper in the park. Granite peaks and boulder riverbeds attract climbers from all over. Favorite spots include:

Little Baldy

Big Baldy

Bubbs Creek Wall

Charlito Dome

Charlotte Dome

Moro Rock

Angel Wings

. . .

Lake Kaweah

Explore the Kaweah Recreation Area and Horse Creek Campground for fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, and day hikes. Both offer quiet camping spots with plenty of space for groups. Bringing a boat? Dock at the Kaweah Marina, which is also our go-to for watercraft rentals.

Kaweah River

Check out the Cobble Knoll Recreation Area for hiking, swimming, and tubing along the river.

Further south, the Slick Rock Recreation Area (aka “Boulder Beach”) is the perfect place for climbing enthusiasts. Further north, you’ll find spots for fishing and whitewater rafting. Book with our favorite rafting guides over at Kaweah Whitewater Adventures for an unforgettable experience. We also highly recommend the Indian Head River Trailhead for hiking and fishing.
